The Barley and Malt Union has proceeded with the implementation of the sounded in spring 2011 co-project that aims to organize malting barley production in Russia for the purposes of exporting to the People’s Republic of China.On the part of the PRC, China National Research Institute of Food and Fermentation Industries (CNRIFFI) appears for the authorized organization requested by the Chinese malting and brewing industries to organize delivery of Russian malting barley as well as other cereal crops to the food and brewing industry enterprises of the PRC.
On May 28, 2012 the BMU and the CNRIFFI made an Agreement on scientific and technological cooperation (placed on the BMU website). On the same day the BMU applied to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for enrollment of Russia-China co-project “Organization of research test of malting barley varieties” to the list of government programs on scientific and technological cooperation between Russia and China.
The representative of the CNRIFFI will take part in the II International Field Day of malting and brewing industry in Russia www.barley-malt-fieldday.ru as well as in the IV International Conference “Equipment Facilities and Raw Material Base for Malting & Brewing Production” www.barley-malt-conference.ru
