According to the confirmed information of our Union about imposing limits on PET containers used for bottling of beer products (http://barley-malt.ru/?p=8827&lang=en), in February 28 the Deputy of the State Duma, the Chairman of the Sub-Committee for the Government Regulation of Excise Goods and Advertising Activities of the Economic Policy Committee, Victor Zvagelsky introduced a bill in the lower Chamber containing information about prohibition on alcohol retail sales in plastic bottles over 1,5 l.
According to this document the ban on alcohol products containing over 6% of alcohol will come into force from January 1, 2015 and on other alcohol products – from May 1, 2017.
The market regulator took into account the position of our Union about necessity for introducing comfort transition periods for branch companies (not less than 2 years), linking this item with the required increase in glass bottles output and step-by-step limiting for PET use.
