Advantages of the BMBU membership for enterprises of Russian brewing industry

1. The Barley, Malt and Beer Union (BMBU) stands for change of the state policy regarding Russian small (up to 5 million dal) and medium (up to 50 million dal) brewing business:

– Introduction of differentiated excise taxes;

– Introduction a separate “window” for communication and formation of laws by the market regulator – the Federal Alcohol Market Regulatory Service (FS “Rosalkogolregulirovanie”);

– Changes in Customs policy by importing equipment;

– Introduction of a representative of small and medium brewing business to the Advisory Board attached to the Federal Alcohol Market Regulatory Service.

2. The BMBU is a platform for communication of the enterprises of the malting barley-beer production chain, the Union holds the annual Conference “Equipment Facilities and Raw Material Base for Malting and Brewing Production”, the Field Day of Malting and Brewing Industry. Participation in the events is free for the members of the BMBU.

For its members the Union also organizes trips to the DLG-Fieldday in Germany, Green Week, Brau Beviale, Oktoberfest, etc.

3. The BMBU represents the interests of the Union members in the federal bodies of the state legislative and executive power.

The President of the BMBU A. Mordovin is the Assistant of the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management G.A. Gorbunov; the member of Scientific Advisory Board attached to RF Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues, the member of Advisory Board attached to the Federal Alcohol Market Regulatory Service (FS “Rosalkogolregulirovanie”), the member of the working group on logistic support of agro-food market, the member of the Board of the State Commission for Selection Achievements Test and Protection RF. A. Mordovin is also a recognized expert in the field of raw material production, brewing and malting.

4. The most authoritative Russian and international scientific institutions are the members of the BMBU:

– Russian Academy of Science General Genetics Institute n.a. N. I. Vavilov;

– All-Russia Plant Research Institute n.a. N. I. Vavilov (GNU VIR Rosselkhozakademia);

– Research and Teaching Institute for Brewing in Berlin VLB;

– Weihenstephan Research Institute in Munich.

5. The BMBU represents the interests of the Union members in the regional bodies of the state legislative and executive power via regional representatives of the Central Black Earth region, Ryazan, Smolensk, Bryansk, Tula, Vladimir, Yaroslavl regions, the Republics of Mordovia, Tatarstan, Chuvashia and Altai Krai.
