Results of IV Conference of Grain Producers (2015-03-11)

IV Conference of Grain producers’ Union took place in the International Trade Center in Moscow in March 10, 2015. Over 200 representatives of the agro-industrial complex of the RF, the CIS and other foreign countries took part in the conference. Special attention was paid to development of new export directions of Russian grain: PRC and Southeast Asia countries.

The President of Barley, Malt, Hops & Beer Union A. Mordovin delivered a presentation devoted to “Beijing Program – a driver for the development of Russian-Chinese agricultural relations”.

Within the Conference, A. Mordovin asked the Head of the Federal Service “Rosselkhozcenter” S.A. Dankvert to get accreditation of the RF as a key crop supplier to PRC under personal control.

An Archpriest, Vsevolod Chaplin, the Chairman of the Church Community for Alcohol Prevention and the Chairman of Synodic Department for Church and Community Relations delivered a welcome speech in the conference.

“Labor is historically connected with religion, because fruits of labor depend not only on human intentions and efforts but Goodwill. No wonder that a word “peasant” is based on “Christian”. Labor without faith will not bring a human being happiness. That’s why relations between labor and faith shall be recovered,” he said.

During the Conference, Alexander Mordovin and Vsevolod Chaplin discussed key problems of the state regulation of beer production and circulation, including a prohibition on use of PET containers, increasing of malt proportion in beer production and introduction of USAIS system. Participants underlined the necessity for increasing of competitiveness of representatives of the production chain “malting barley – beer” and conducting of the regular congress of the Church Community for Alcohol Prevention.

It bears noting that in February 16-17 2012, the congress took place in the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour with participation of the Chairman of the Government of the RF V.V. Putin and His Holiness the Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. Over 400 delegates from 81 Russian regions, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan took part in the congress. Famous scientists, politicians and public bodies were invited to the congress. The Head of the Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation, I.P. Chuyan, the Chief State Medical Officer G.G. Onishchenko (a member of the Council), an academician L.A. Bokeria (a member of the Council), the State Duma deputies, representatives of the Ministry of Health and Social Development and Russian Orthodox Church also took part in the congress.

The Council was created with the blessing of His Holiness the Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia in March 2009. Co-Chairs of the Council were a writer V.G. Rasputin and a Vice-rector of Sretensky Stavropegial Monastery, an Archimandrite Tikhon (Shevkunov). The key aim of the Council – alcohol abuse prevention, firstly, among teenagers and young adults.
