Union’s project – Russian Ale. New GOST is required. (2015-08-11)

Barley, Malt, Hops & Beer Union is a mover and co-developer of the most significant legislative and technical amendments in the activity of the companies “malting barley – beer”.

Rapid development of the independent brewing business in the RF and a great variety of beer brands, own recipe content and peculiar production technologies led to necessity of GOST introduction, illustrated by Ale.

GOST or State standard refers to a set of technical standards and rules for production of a certain product. So, a product may only be sold under the label if the technical standard is followed.

It is definitely clear that in keen competition, companies draw consumers’ attention in different ways. Some companies try to lowball, others make high quality products and still others invest huge sums in advertising.

But, fair competition can be existed only in case of GOST production.

Most of web-site visitors are experts of the brewing industry, so it is not necessary to explain difference between Ale and Lager. It bears noting that ale market is rapidly increasing in Russia and in the coming 5-8 years its share will be 10% of beer production in the RF.

In the second half of August, there will be a regular meeting of the Working Group for Effective State Regulation and Competitiveness in the Alcohol Market.
