Alexander Mordovin: the Government of the Republic of Belarus shall give a political estimation to the Chinese malt project in Minsk. (2015-11-23)

Carried out consultations with producers of brewing products, brewers’ malt and malting barley of participating countries of the Eurasian Economic Union during BrauBeviale in Nurnberg, the President of Barley, Malt, Hops & Beer Union Alexander Mordovin addressed to the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and the Minister of Agriculture of the RF Alexander Tkachev with a request to study the issue concerning reasonability of the construction of the new malt plant “Juxin Malt Technology” with capacity of 300.000 tons of malt per year at the territory of the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park “Great Stone”.

Studying this question together with our “Beijing Program” colleagues, we reached a conclusion that this construction would not yield dividends to the Republic of Belarus as well as introduce tension into delicate balance between production and consumption of brewers’ malt and the production chain “malting barley – malt” in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Taking into account a form of “incognito” of a supposed Chinese investor, we don’t exclude misinforming of the Belarusian Government. We are sure that additional exploring of this question together with the executive authorities of the RF will help to accept right political decisions.
