The President of Russia Vladimir Putin met with the Prime-Minister of Bavaria Horst Seehofer. The Prime-Minister of Bavaria Horst Seehofer visited Moscow from 15th to 17th of March 2017 by invitation of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.
Vladimir Putin underlined a specific type of relationship between Russia and Bavaria and thanked Horst Seehofer for efforts towards its normalization. “We have a specific type of relationship between Russia and Bavaria. Trade and economic relations value is great”, told Vladimir Putin.
He also noted that 50% of investing projects to Russia are Bavarian and the Prime-Minister of Bavaria is an honorary guest.
Horst Seehofer came to Russia with delegation of 60 persons, Bavarian politicians and businessmen for the purpose to piece up broken connections.
It is not the first visit of Horst Seehofer to Moscow. The previous visit of the leader CSU was in February last year and garnered criticism towards him. But there is a logical explanation for this direction, as last year trade turnover between German land and Russia was 7,62 billion Euro and in 2012 it was 13,1 billion Euro, two times as great.
It bears noting that Horst Seehofer reminded Vladimir Putin of his visit to the restaurant of the brewing company Aying (30km from Munich).
Horst Seehofer: “One of the most legendary meetings in the history of our relations took place in the Guest house Aying, You planned to stay for an hour and as a result stayed up to midnight.
Vladimir Putin: «Ich erinnere mich…». «I didn’t have an opportunity to leave»…
Issues, concerning Days of Bavarian economics in Moscow, joint business events, the development of beer-food sub-complex of the RF etc. were discussed within the meeting of Alexander Mordovin and the Deputy Prime-Minister of Bavaria, the Minister of Economic Affairs Ilse Aigner.
It bears noting that Horst Seehofer and Ilse Aigner were Ministers of Food and Agriculture of Germany in 2005-2008 and 2008-2013 correspondingly. There were also joint meetings with Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin and the Minister for Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin and other public persons.
