Russian government offered to complete an Act “Concerning Amendments in the Federal Law “On the State Regulation of the Production and Circulation of Ethyl Alcohol and Alcoholic and Alcohol-Containing Products and Placing Restrictions on Alcohol Consumption”. It is also offered to include the possibility of reducing ethyl proportion in alcohol products in case of retail trade. The question is about limiting of alcohol retail in the polymer consumer container up to 1,5 l. instead of offered 0,5 l from January 1, 2015.

“Together with accepted measures within the Concept implementation” (limiting of sales location, prohibition on alcohol advertising, increasing of excise duties) these measures will influence on reducing of alcohol abuse level” – as stated in the official comments of the Russian government.

Finally, the Russian government claimed that they will back the draft bill “in case of its completing till the first reading”.
