During the period from 16 to 22 March 2011 the president of the Barley and Malt Union Alexander Mordovin and Executive Director of the Union Alexey Rubtsov in a study tour held working meetings with the heads of Tula, Orel, Kursk, Voronezh, Lipetsk and Tambov regions. They also met with the department heads of agricultural sector and representatives of the regional offices of Federal State Institution Russian Agricultural Center (FSD “Rosselhoztsentr”), State Commission of the Russian Federation for Testing and Protection the Breeding Achievements (FSD “Gossortkomissiya”) and Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (“Rosselkhoznadzor”).
Representatives of regional administrations supported the necessity of creation the Union. During the meetings there were reached some agreements on the support of the Union at the regional level and conduction of joint events within Union’s activities.
In the nearest future similar meetings will be held in Belgorod and Ryazan regions, as well as in Mordovia and Tatarstan.
It should be noted that during the talks, the representatives of the authority of the regions particularly underlined the success of Baltika Breweries and Cargill to build a jointly-responsible, targeted at farmers agricultural project.
Administration of the Union will apply to the Ministry of Agriculture for expressing gratitude to the leaders of agricultural projects of these companies for their achievements in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the processing and agricultural industry and for the support of Russian agricultural producers.
Among the best varieties of malting barley that have received deserved recognition of the agricultural producers of almost all the above mentioned regions was especially highlighted the grade “Xanadu” of the company Saaten Union for its stable indicators of yield capacity and disease resistance.
