Order of the Minister (2011-12-22)

 In accordance with the outcome of the Round Table on the “Status and prospects of development of raw materials for the malting and brewing industries” held on 06.12.2011 by the Minister of Agriculture Elena Skrynnik together with the representatives of the production chain “malting barley-beer”, the Plant and Food Departaments, the Administration Departament, Barley and Malt Union and PSA had been charged for implementation the provisions of § 7 of the Protocol of the Roundtable on the need for a state program for the production of quality raw materials for brewing in the Russian Federation, taking into account the risks of agricultural production. The order in accordance with the instructions of the Minister must be satisfied up to 12/30/2011.

In order to study this question, we appeal to members of the union, as well as to all interested entities (breeders, research institutes, seed, hop breeders, agricultural producers, representatives of the malting and brewing business) to express your opinion on the development of this program. State program for the production of quality raw materials for the brewing industry is a strategy aimed at stabilizing and increasing the volume and quality of brewing raw materials (barley, hops and malt) produced in the Russian Federation, which includes government support measures aimed at achieving this goal and elimination of administrative and / or other the barriers.

We ask you, in a short time (up to 29/12/2011) to express your opinion on this issue in a letter to the President of the Barley and Malt Union. Please formulate your point of view on the program development in a compact form, not more than 2 sheets. Copies of the letters are to be sent by fax or e-mail, but we ask you to send the originals for the Union’s address.
