According to the joint appeal of the President of Barley, Malt, Hops & Beer Union A. Mordovin and the Head of the Private Brauereien Deutschland R. Demleitner to the Minister of Agriculture N.V. Fedorov with intent to create a counterbalance to transnational companies and their market control, taking into account their pressure on agricultural producers, necessity for strengthening competitiveness of the independent brewing business (http://barley-malt.ru/?p=7463&lang=en), many requests of regional and federal public authorities to the President and the Government of the Russian Federation concerning harmonization of the production chain “malting barley – beer”, it was decided to hold an International Forum “Current state and development trends of brewing industry and raw materials for malting and brewing producing of countries of the Eurasian Economic Commission” in June 17, 2014 in the building of the Ministry of Agriculture of the RF.
Our Union and partners – the Private Brauereien Deutschland, the National Union of Grain Producers, the Russian Union of Taxpayers and The Union of Viticulturists and Winemakers in Russia will make all preparations for the Forum.
Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Federation Council, the State Duma, the Ministry for Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Eurasian Economic Commission, the Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation, the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan and Russian regions will take part in the Forum.
It is planned to discuss and take a final decision on topical problems of the industry: concerning the system of the state variety testing of malting barley and entering into the State Register of Selection Achievements, production of malting barley, malt and hop, introduction of import restrictions, limits on use of unmalted materials, sacchariferous components and PET-containers. The Union of Independent Brewers of the Eurasian Community of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia and other Eurasian countries will be created within the Forum.
