On March 22nd, 2012 the meeting “Development of Hop Growing in the Russian Federation” took place in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation in accordance with the results of the round table discussion “The Status and Development Prospects of Raw Material Base for Malting and Brewing Production” that was held on December 6th, 2011 by the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation E. Skrynnik with the representatives of the “malting barley-beer” chain for implementation of ar. 6 record No. ES-19/225.
Present: Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Soloviev A.A., Director of the Department of Plant Growing Chekmarev P.A., Acting Director of the Department of Food Industry Mezhonin A.V., Deputy Director of the Department of Economics Losev M.V., Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Chuvashia Pavlov S.V., President of the Barley and Malt Union Mordovin A.N., Chairman of the Union of Russian Brewers Executive Committee Council Mamontov V.I., representatives of the “malting barley-beer” chain.
The following issues were discussed: the revival of Russian hop industry, the Regional target program of the Republic of Chuvashia, the interaction between hop growers and brewing business.
