Round table discussion at the Federation Council office 19.04.2012 on topic “Current State and Development Prospects of Brewing Industry of the Customs Union Countries”, chaired by the First Deputy Chairman of the Council Alexander Torshin (2012-04-13)

On April 19, 2012 at 3 p.m. a round table discussion on topic “Current State and Development Prospects of Brewing Industry of the Customs Union Countries” will be held at the office of the Federation Council (ul. B. Dmitrovka, d. 26, k. 700), chaired by the First Deputy Chairman of the Council Alexander Torshin.

Participants will discuss topical issues of legislative and technical regulation of brewing industry in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, will review drafting and potential consequences of adoption of the Customs union Technical regulations “On Safety of Alcoholic Products”, which is currently under debate.

Besides, within the discussion the adoption of FL No. 218 “On Amending Federal Law “On Government Regulation of Production and Sales of Ethyl Alcohol and Alcohol Containing Products” and Federal Law “On Restriction of Retail Sales and Consumption (Drinking) of Beer and Beer-based Beverages”, which has equated beer with strong spirits, will be debated.

Representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development RF, the Ministry of Industry and Trade RF, FAS RF, the Russian Alcohol Regulatory Agency, the Ministry of Health and Social Development RF, the Ministry of Agriculture RF, the Russian Chamber of Commerce, RUIE, as well as representatives of brewing industry of Belarus and Kazakhstan.
