Beijing Program – a development driver of Russian-Chinese relations in agriculture (2013-10-08)

We’d like to inform you that as a result of implementation of “Beijing program” prepared by the Union and supported by Russian-Chinese Commission for preparing regular summit conferences, a Government Sub-Committee for agricultural cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China will be established.

Early September 2013 the President of Barley, Malt and Beer Union, A. Mordovin addressed a corresponding proposal about forming a Sub-Committee to State government bodies. Reasons for establishing this Sub-Committee are as follows:

“Commodity turnover with PRC in agriculture contains: import from PRC – 1,665 billion dol., export to PRC – 0,943 billion, 97% of which is aquaculture. I think it necessary to study other agricultural products that we can supply to PRC. We’d like to see another Sub-Commission – a Sub-Commission for cooperation in agro industrial complex”.

From an official source, Ministry of Agriculture of the RF and Ministry of Agriculture of PRC confirmed a decision of Russian-Chinese Commission for preparing regular summit conferences to establish a Sub-Committee for agricultural cooperation.

Appropriate statements about forming a Sub-Commission were recommended to the 17th final record of the meeting of Russian-Chinese Commission for preparing regular summit conferences (the meeting will be on 18th of October 2013 in Beijing).
